Bespoke Orthotics

What’s all the fuss about?

Bespoke foot orthoses are prescriptive devices that are worn in shoes to correct any biomechanical issues that may be contributing to pain in the feet, ankles, legs, knees, hips, and lower back. They are made using a mould of your foot, and unlike the insoles which you can buy in a shop, they are a perfect fit for you and are customised to address any biomechanical issues or structural anomalies.

Our Bespoke Orthotics can be made in a variety of materials and styles to suit your needs and are designed to last several years before needing replacement.

The lab we use to develop our Bespoke Orthotics is Firefly Orthotics, and we chose them as they provide orthotics that can be designed to fit into most styles of footwear, including dress shoes and sport specific footwear, meaning you will experience perfect fit in addition to optimal therapeutic benefit.

Orthotics can also be used to support injury prevention and improve sporting performance. This works by reducing tissue stress to the foot and ankle, improving function which allows your body to perform optimally, without increasing the risk of pain or injury.

How do I know if I need a Bespoke Orthotics?

We prescribe bespoke orthotics in response to pain, injury or a will to improve performance.

Before our Specialist Podiatrists design a prescription, they will carry out a full diagnostic assessment of your foot and ankle function, including through the use of Video Gait Analysis (learn more about that here!)

Following your comprehensive assessment, a diagnosis will be made and if an orthotic can help your condition, your Podiatrist will recommend one to you.

Bespoke Orthotics are our gold standard treatment for many foot and ankle conditions, plus many wider musculo-skeletal problems such as back or knee pain.
